Who Can Work in a Real Estate Office?
The law states that to be employed by a real estate agency as a property consultant or assistant property manager, or to undertake any of the tasks associated with those functions, a person must have completed the property consultant's or assistant property managers' course run by the REIT.
Technically, this means that a receptionist providing information about a property to a client must also have completed the more appropriate of these courses for their role.
To be an agent or property manager requires registration as a Real Estate Agent or Property Manager with the Property Agents Board. This requires a minimum of two years' experience working as a property consultant or assistant property manager plus the qualification of Diploma of Property (Real Estate).
Auctioneers are also required to be employed by a Real Estate Agent.
